Praise God for a the wonderful opportunity to minister the Uniquely His message last week at the Family Enrichment Week at Calvary Assembly of God in Dover, Delaware. I ministered three nights on the personalities in the Orchestra of Life and two nights on our Identity in Christ. The podcast of these teachings are included here on this blog site.
The first podcast is an introduction to Uniquely His and why it’s important to understand Who and Whose we are.
The second is a short presentation on the personalities as instruments in the orchestra. The Popular Sanguine as a saxophone or trumpet is popular and loud. The Powerful Choleric is compared to the drums who set the pace and the Perfect Melancholy to the first clarinet or violin who sets the pitch – perfect. The Peaceful Phlegmatic is compared to the French Horn – mellow and patient as it waits its turn to play the background music. But all are needed and lend their voice to make the orchestra complete.
The third podcast covers how to blend with the other instruments. When we know and meet the emotional needs of each personality it helps them feel valued and better able to operate in their strengths. People shrivel or thrive according to how well these needs are met. The responsibility and choice is ours.
Adjusting to the other Instruments in the Orchestra is the subject of the fourth podcast. Though we are all motivated to act certain ways we can choose to use the fruit of the Spirit to adjust our behavior in consideration of others.
In the fifth podcast we discuss Surrendering to our Personality Place in the Orchestra of Life. Stop competing and start complimenting by understanding each others’ design. Stop competing and start completing by putting on love. Stop comparing ourselves because it sets us up for rejection and keeps us from accepting ourselves and others. Romans 12:4-6 tells us “So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be without enviously or pride fully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.”
The sixth podcast covers honoring God with the offering of our lives as living sacrifices within the context of our personality.

I have, in faith, quoted the verse “there is therefore now condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” for 5 yrs, not necessarily believing it for myself.
Now, I know after this week (of course being a process) that there is no more self condemnation which is really the only true condemnation that existed anyway.

Dianne - praise the Lord! That is a good truth to remember. However, many times self-condemnation is being whispered to us by the enemy and we think it is our own thoughts. He tries to make us think it is our own thoughts. That is why when we already know who and whose we are we can recognize the lies and push the delete button on the computer of our brains. Marvelous invention — that delete button. We have the choice and the power so just go ahead and use it.

I was so excited to see all the lectures on this pod cast. I was sad that I had to miss several classes. So this is a great opportunity to listen to all the sessions and review. I’ve been listening to the everynight. Also, I wanted to thank you for this wonderful class. It has really opened my eyes to a lot. My husband is mostly a Sanquine and I am mostly a Melencholy. So I always had a hard time giving him compliments as he was always so “sure” or “full” of himself. I thought I would be contributing to his “sin” of pride. Or if I did completement him it would be a sarcastic dig at him. This has been going on for 17 years and it is a miracle we are still together. Now I see it as who he is and not his pridefulness. I can’t wait to find opportunties to compliment and build him up. I have a lot of old habits to break. Thank you so much and praise God for his love and mercy!

Thanks for sharing your excitement about learning the personalities. One of my goals was to help husbands and wives to understand one another better. We hope to do a Personalities for Couples class at the Marriage Retreat this November. Maybe you will both get a chance to go then. Keep understanding and complimenting your husband in more ways than one.
